Tupelo Honey

Song: Tupelo Honey
Artist: Van Morrison

A sweet smile starts to grow on my face with the first notes of this song.  Sweetness is sweetness.

The room fills with the music. It all blends so smoothly. His voice, the words, the easy music, the richer sax coming in. Oh, what a gorgeous tune for floating off to a sweet and easy energy…every single time.

She’s as sweet as Tupelo honey
She’s an angel of the first degree
She’s as sweet, she’s as sweet as Tupelo honey
Just like honey, baby, from the bee

You can’t stop us on the road to freedom
You can’t keep us ‘cause our eyes can see

My friend brought me this today. He is full of sweetness. I am lucky to know him and to know his tender but strong heart. The sweetness is a little hidden most of the time, and I have to coax him to share that beautiful strength. Kind of like when the sweet sax and the drums and the piano all get together on the chorus. The call to bring that sweetness to the forefront.

Reflections

  • How do you like to use honey?
  • Where do you have sweetness in your life?
  • Taste some honey today – in your coffee, in a sweet dessert, or just a big spoonful.
    (Good medicine for us humans.)

Try this

  • Think of one thing you are grateful for…take it into your heart.
  • How many more things come to mind? So many I bet. One usually turns into 10 for me.
  • Send love to the bees!
