Song: Faith’s Hymn
Artist: Beautiful Chorus
Peace and Calm was not my experience during a yoga class today. Struggling to find compassion for myself and patience for others. During this intense healing journey that I have initiated over the last few weeks, each day brings deeper learning, new levels of letting go, new expansion…all usually after challenging emotions are felt or sometimes through the physical manifestation of detoxing or my nervous system realigning.
And then…this song by Beautiful Chorus came on during the later half of the class. The melody transported me to a vision of laying on my yoga mat while some of my most cherished yogini friends slowly circled my mat. This circle of powerful, beautiful women brought me such strength and support in that instant. My frustration melted and my powerful heart became available to me so I could feel deeper and more fully.
I knew I had to have physical movement to process what I was healing. I could have sat and brooded. Getting to a yoga class, broke me through the healing challenges. It took more than half the class to facilitate the shift, but I had faith that if I got on my mat, I would feel better after the hour than I did when I arrived. This is my practice. Move the body to know the truth.
You worry too much
It’s gonna be alright
When times get rough
You can fall back on us
Don’t give up
Reflections
-
When faced with challenges, where do you find your faith?
-
What physical practices do you have that clear the detox pathways in your body? How often do you do them?
-
What healing journey are you currently on? How’s it going?
-
Where do you find reverence in your day?
